What We Leave Behind est une recherche portée par Marilyn Daoust et Anna Stamp, sur les empreintes et traces humaines conscientes et inconscientes, autant dans des perspectives relationnelles qu’environnementales. Ici le langage physique, la matière, l'espace et la dramaturgie sont interrelié.e.s.

Elles explorent à la fois les empreintes plus concrètes impliquant des matières, ainsi que les traces, celles-ci imperceptibles et immatérielles. Les traces sont plutôt de l’ordre du souvenir et de l'hyper conscience du corps.

La relation à l'autre, tout comme la relation avec la matière, en dit long sur nos comportements et sur la quête du pouvoir. L’humain avance, ce qui fait reculer la nature, et provoque une incohérence spatiale, ou encore, relationnelle.

Cette création vise à réfléchir autrement cet espace et ces frontières entre soi et le hors-soi; à écouter la tendresse et les lignes courbes ; à montrer l'imperceptible, à sortir du confort et des lignes droites ; à être ensemble, autrement; à être petits ; à

rapetisser nos traces; les observer à reculons; à questionner les notions de transparence et de corruption; à accueillir la

bienveillance; à être instables là où on ne s’y attend pas.

What We Leave Behind is a research project by Marilyn Daoust and Anna Stamp on conscious and unconscious human imprints and traces, both in relational and environmental perspectives. Here physical language, material, space and dramaturgy are interrelated.

They explore both the more concrete imprints involving materials, as well as the traces, which are imperceptible and immaterial. The traces are rather of the order of memory and hyper-awareness of the body.

The relationship with the other, just like the relationship with matter, says a lot about our behaviour and the quest for power. Humans advance, which makes nature retreat, and causes spatial and relational incoherence.

This creation aims to reflect differently on this space and these borders between oneself and outside oneself; to listen to tenderness and curved lines; to show the imperceptible, to get out of comfort and straight lines; to be together, differently; to be small; to

our traces; to observe them backwards; to question the notions of transparency and corruption; to welcome

to be unstable where we don't expect it.
