JANICK DANIELS AND THE COMPANY NIVEAU 5

During this week of residency, Janick Daniels will develop her work and the construction of a character based on the adaptation of Jules Verne's text, Around the World in 80 Days.

A mixture of style and theatrical play.

A desire to reach a "general public" and especially the new generations. Discovering a great story in a pocket format brings the reader closer to the characters. It makes the show accessible to all.

And why not through the theater rather than through the virtual, in this world so connected that it distances us more and more from the living art?

5 actors, 35 roles.

The work will focus on the gesture and the composition of the character. How to go from one figure to another in a few seconds, while keeping the rhythm necessary for this type of play?

Assembling, merging genres, using derision as "creative material". To question the repetition of the movement which carries the character in a resolutely comic absurdity. Popularize the silhouettes but also the words. To explore the solid foundations of the grotesque, the art of contrasts in all its forms.

To dissect the strings of comic theater which aims to entertain and educate humans by highlighting his flaws, his imperfections, his follies. To bring out the ridiculousness of characters or situations.
